Welcome to Department of Political Science

About Department: The Department of Political Science was introduced from the inception of Chakdaha College in November, 1972. At the time of commencement there was no teacher in this Department. In December, 1975 Sri S. R. Roy joined this college as the first faculty of Political Science. At that time the study of the subject was limited only for the General students. In 1978, second post was created in the subject and Sri S. Bandyopadhyay joined the post in 1979. Honours course in Political science was introduced in 1980. This was the first Honours course introduced in our College. At present there are only two full time faculties (Prof. Aliul Houqe & Prof. Shilpa Shaw) out of four posts and three Guest Lecturers in the Department.
