About Department: The Department of Physics was engaged in teaching-learning and started its journey with offering General and Honours degree courses (affiliated to the University of Kalyani).The department of Physics is well known for its excellence in teaching and research. The faculty members of the department are engaged in guiding the UG level Students. Laboratories are well equipped with all the instruments as per the CBCS syllabus of University of Kalyani. The outcome of the Department is worthy of pride. The alumni of our Department are continuously adding feathers to the crown. Students of the department get a homely atmosphere and congenial environment for learning the subject. After obtaining their degree from this department, a large number of students progress vertically to enter into various universities to pursue Masters’ degree in Physics. Of them many are in service as school teacher, college professor as well as pursuing active research activity in research institutes of repute besides following other professions. Several students of this department have qualified for various competitive examinations like SSC,JAM,JEST,NET,GATE,SET etc at different points of time. The teaching faculty consists of highly qualified teachers with publication in journals of international repute. The departmental staffs are highly supportive, caring and always takes considerate view on student matters.The department is moving forward imparting quality teaching, striving hard to complete syllabus in time and Satisfactory results for honours and general courses for last twenty years.
