About Department: The Department of Chemistry was engaged in teaching to HS course and started its journey with offering General and Honours degree course in 1983 and 1997 respectively. The department of chemistry is well known for its excellence in teaching and research. The faculty members of the department are engaged in guiding the UG level Students. There are three separate laboratories for Organic, Inorganic and Physical Chemistry practical classes. Laboratories are well equipped with all the instruments as per the modern syllabus of University of Kalyani. The outcome of the Department is worthy of pride. The alumni of our Department are continuously adding feathers to the crown. A National Seminar was organized by our Department in 2011 to commemorate Acharya Prafulla Chandra Roy and celebrate the International Year of Chemistry (2011). We have Aresnic detection arrangements through which we could serve the local people about the level of arsenic in potable water. The Department has also organized "Science Academies' Lecture Workshop" in January 2018.
